In this analysis of this song i have only talked about the words of the song. Nothing to do with the music. There are many other things to listen for other than the words but how they are said and the musicality.

When the song starts Jack Black is speaking in spoken word not sung. This implies that he would like you to pay attention to the lyrics at the point of the song. When he enters the song it is gental and sweet, this is because of the text he is singing. the song begins to crasaindo as the words get more aggressive, but then dies back down as gets back into the chorus. He shouts the word teamwork, this shows that this word is very important. Lastly, the only time in the song there is harmony, is at the very end when he says, fuck her hard. As i have said before i believe that phrase to mean the work you must put in with the tools that God has given you. Giving this harmony shows that even though God gives you things, your journey will be complex and full of "life".

Maybe I have been looking into this song too hard. Maybe we all have been looking too hard. Maybe songs aren't meant to be studied and thoroughly examined, i think we should just listen to the songs. I love music, and when i listen to it, the words wash over me in silence. I hear rhythms, and cadences, and theory of music its self. I notice the sudel differences in dynamic, but nothing about words. this assignment was hard for a musician such as myslef, i hope we can do something like this in the future, but on the more musical side of things.

I don't think that this argument that "fuck" is referring to life because in the song he uses to many other words that imply having sex rather than anything to do with life.

Well Like a Rolling Stone, i see where your coming from, but let me show you how the word life can have differnt meanings or be used in differnt words. Life can mean the quality that distinguishes a vital and functional being from a dead body, or an organismic state characterized by capacity for metabolism, growth, reaction to stimuli, and reproduction or the sequence of physical and mental experiences that make up the existence of an individual, or what about the form or pattern of something existing in reality. Life has many many ways of showing its self, just like maing love, and thanks to http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/life, i could show you.

As for you implying that life does not have other words meaning life, like fucking does, life has many Synonyms. Here is a list if you don't believe me:

if you think its about "life" then how does this part of the song fit into your argument:
Whats your favorite posish?
That's cool with me
Its not my favorite
But I'll do it for you
Whats your favorite dish?
Im not gonna cook it
But ill order it from Zanzibar

I'm glad you all will never cease to show me my ideas make any kind of sense or have some sort of substance. i will try and let you get some sleep by decoding this for you " Alanna" if that is your real name. Life can have different meanings to the beholder. In so many different cases religen plays a huge role. in some lives, God IS their life. So to further connect this song to life i will give you some examples of how tis song is directly related to religen.

When Jack Black says the word posish, this is a metaphor for religion. I believe that Jack is God, and he is saying that though she does not believe what he intended for mankind to believe, he is forgiving and will let her into heaven "But I'll do it for you".

When God ( Jack Black) says tat he wants to know what your favorite dish is, he is asking you to pray. To ask God for something, is to pray. But does God just give you things. No. He does not. But by some religious faiths he DOES give you tools to aid you to find your goal, or what you are looking for " But ill oder it from Zanzibar".
Below is a link to the music video, but please beware, the video is widely inappropriate. If you choose to watch it the blog that follows will try and interpret it. Please, feel free to tare my ideas apart and find some new ones that make more sense.

Ok. So. Now there is a heaven and hell idea about the song. We can assume that Jack Black and Kyle Gas are some sort of angle because of their wings and halo. We can also assume the tall, red, horned man is the Devil. This "devil" is receiving a lesson on how to have sexual intercourse with a woman properly. At the begining we see him taking notes while Jack Black is giving him advise. After awhile, the angels work their way down on the girl giving the Devil all of the advise they have and pleasing the girl. The Devil gets jellous and the angels take her away from the devil. I believe that the angels taking her away from the Devil is some sort of rebuilding process for the girl as she excapes the punishing beatings she receives during intercourse with the Devil. In some respects I believe that the Devil is Jack Black before he separated from his selfish being and aimed more towards a generious guy looking to please the woman first and himself second. In the end the angels take the girl away and the Devil is turned into a skeleton, this shows the selfish side of him dying and the woman going to a higher potiem and being treated more as a human rather than a "sex object".

Before I can use the word "fuck" I must analyze the word its self. Dictionary.com says "to have sexual intercourse with", but does that really show how we use the word in a modern society? The answer is no of course. We use the word to enhance our daily dialect, " nice fucking day huh?". Fuck gets your point across even when your wrong or there is no way to tell the answer, "fuck you are your bagels, toast is better". Fuck helps to tell people what you really think about them, " fuck you".

But we still use the word "fuck" to mean its original intention. To fuck someone, still is a crude term for making love. When Tenacious D wrote this song, they may have meant the word "fuck" to mean to enhance daily dialect, to get a piont across, or to tell someone how they really feel. But I think Tencacious D trys to show us, the listeners, that there are many meanings to the word fuck by saying, "Sometimes you got to make some love", because thats implying that "fucking" is not the same as making love, which also implys thats its a differnt meaning then making love. I thought hard about what Jack Black and Kyle Gas thought about when they wrote this song, and I have come to the conclution that the girl that is being "fucked" in this song is not a girl at all. "She" is life itself. And when they say, "you dont always have to fuck her hard", thats saying to you can take a break sometimes, stop to enjoy your surrownings during life. And the last line, "fuck her hard", implise that sometimes you need to do your work your hardest.

So remember readers, "Fuck her Gently".

Thanks for the posts everyone... but most of them talk about how i need to say more or that what i have said makes no sense. In response to Ashlyn Childs comment, the writer of this song did not just write this song for men. There may only be directions and suggestions for the male counterpart, but each of the decisions effect both the male and female. the song is most likely not for the audience of the younger generation, because of the language and the sexual content. i will get back to you on who i think the audience is because it is a though question to answer. again thank you all for the posts.
